Cariad Lloyd is an actor, comedian, writer and improviser. She was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards for her début solo show, Lady Cariad’s Characters. She then performed her second solo show, The Freewheelin’ Cariad Lloyd to critical acclaim, despite featuring a character based on a Moomin.
She has appeared in her own pilot, The Cariad Show for BBC Three and can be seen in BBC Three’s sitcom Crims. She has also appeared in Give Out Girls, Cardinal Burns, Bafta-nominated DNN, Siblings, Crackanory, Badults, Toast of London and Inside No.9.
For Radio 4, she has featured in The Now Show, The Cariad Radio Show, Newsjack, The Guns of Adam Riches and Sony award-winning Here Be Dragons.
She has guested with The Comedy Store Players, Showstopper!, Baby Wants Candy, The 50 Hour Improvathon, Ken Campbell’s School of Night, The English Lovers in Vienna, Die-Nasty in Canada, and has performed shows at UCB and The PIT in New York and at the UCB in LA.
Ms Cariad Lloyd has scandalised polite company by performing ‘comic turns’ and writing (despite her little lady hands) with alarming regularity. She has appeared in such amusing revues as ‘Peep Show’, ‘Toast of London’ and ‘Inside No. 9’, and has also been seen without a bonnet on ‘QI’ and ‘Have I Got News For You’. A most lively improviser, she has performed with the ‘Comedy Store Players’, ‘Baby Wants Candy’ and the ‘UCB’ in the Americas. Most likely to be found indulging in vigorous dancing and wistful looks.
